Promoted to Glory from St. Luke’s Homes on December 07, 2009 at the age of 91. Born in Glovertown, Beryl was the last surviving child of Samuel and Alfreda Mary (Rideout) Harris. She is predeceased by them, and by brothers Dorman (Mabel), Eldon, Clifford, Aubrey (Phyllis) and by sisters Georgina (Walter) Manuel, Doris (Arthur) Penney, Joyce (Joseph) Durdle. Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Phyllis Harris of Springdale, her nephew Melvin Durdle of St. John’s, other nephews and nieces, her fellow officers, and an extended circle of friends. Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, Dec. 09 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service from the Salvation Army Temple, Torbay Road at 2 p.m. on Thursday,Dec. 10, 2009 followed by interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
