Richard “Todd” Butler - 45, of New Minas, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Windsor, he was the son of Shirley (Spencer) Butler, North Alton and the late Richard “Dick” Butler. He had been employed as Meat Manager of Sobey’s, Greenwood. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing and ox pulls. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed bowling and NASCAR racing. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife and soul mate, the former Kim DeJaeger; a step-daughter, Natalie Wood, Calgary, Alberta; a step-son, Cory Wood and a step-grandson, Alex, both of Calgary, Alberta; a sister, Marlene (Greg) Allen, Hantsport. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, Reverend June Keddy officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation or the charity of your choice.
