It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our sister, Sandra on December 3, 2009.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Egbert and Mary (Marsh) Best. Throughout her career, Sandra was a teacher, later becoming a principal, from which she retired in 2007 after 35 years of dedicated service to her students.
Sandra loved her family and students dearly.
She is survived by her siblings, Lorne, Brian, Janice, Philip, Kerry, Karen, Jeffery and Lorie, as well as many dear nieces, nephews and close cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents an older brother, Donald.
Sandra loved life and people. She touched many lives. Her smiling face and engaging conversation will certainly be missed by all.
Besides her family, she leaves several close friends, co-workers and all who had the pleasure of her company.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (902-477-5601), where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in Sydney, N.S.
