It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Micossi on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
A longtime resident of the Sterling, Mary resided at Seaview Manor for the last number of years.
Born in Glace Bay, Mary was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (O’Donnell) Sampson.
Mary will be sadly missed by brothers, Earl (Irene), Clarence (Kay) and sisters, Rose Emond, Ruby Deveaux, Sally Sampson, all of Glace Bay, and Betty Sampson, Ontario. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews, special niece, Yvonne MacGregor and husband, Ross.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Guido, brothers, Charlie, Gerald, Stanford, Paddy, Robert and sister, Wilma Broderick.
In honouring Mary’s wishes, there will be family visitation only. A funeral mass will be celebrated 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Holy Family Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
