It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother Catherine ‘Kate’ Elsie MacDonald on March 10, 2012.
A native of Glace Bay, Kate was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lila (Simmons) Kinslow.
Mom was a resident of Taigh na Mara for the last several years.
Kate will be sadly missed by her son, John (Jean) MacDonald, Homeville; daughter, Lila (Jim) Aucoin, Donkin, Barbara (Joe) Antinello, Ontario; stepdaughter, Alice (John) Leadbeater, New Waterford; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, also by sisters, Thelma, Phoebe, brothers, Harold, Russell, Tom.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, John Langton MacDonald, stepson, Phillip, sisters, Eva, Dolly, Mae, Nellie, Etta, Hazel, and brothers, Albert, Ernest, Frank.
Visitation for Kate will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held in funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 14, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Interment will be held in Black Brook Cemetery, Port Morien.
