Richard Justin Bonsall " Dick" Kaye

Kaye, Richard Justin Bonsall “Dick” – 91, passed away peacefully under the tender care of staff and friends, March 11, 2012 in the Palliative Care Unit, Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Formerly of Queen Street, Truro, he was born in 1920 in Moncton, New Brunswick and was a son of the late Richard C. and Eva (Hicks) Kaye. Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Selig) after 60 years of marriage. He worked in the Public Works and Engineering Department of the Colchester Municipality until his retirement in 1985. Dick was baptized in 1939 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a longtime member of the Salmon River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Truro, N.S. Dick was an avid student and teacher of the Bible and was most at home when immersed in its contents and sharing its hopeful message with others in the community. He was accomplished in Hebrew, Greek and Latin and was keenly interested and versed in archaeology, history, astronomy, mathematics and cats. Dick’s gentle, humble, unassuming character, sense of humor and spiritual depth will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, March 14th at 3 pm in the Kingdom Hall, 183 Waller Drive, Truro, David Spence officiating. Private interment in Elmond Cemetery, Moncton, NB at a later date. A time of fellowship will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salmon River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
