It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Kenzie Biron on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in St. Peters, he was the son of Catherine (MacLeod) and the late Claude Biron.
Kenzie owned and operated Kenzie Biron Auto Body retiring in 2007. He and his wife Lynn spent summers in Catalone and wintered in Zephyrhills, Fla. for the past five years. Kenzie was an avid fan and racecar driver; he drove stock cars in Sydney and drag raced in Sydney, Halifax, and PEI.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Roper; daughter Karla (Rob Tuck); grandchildren, Avery and Raine; brother, Keats (Brenda); sister-in-law, Judy Biron. Also left to mourn his loss is Lynn’s daughter Jennifer Stewart and her children, Hanna and Fox of Surrey, B.C.; mother-in-law, Jessie Roper; sister-in-law, Ann Ledgerwood; and brother-in-law, Ian (Chris) Roper. Kenzie was also very fortunate to have nieces and nephews whom he cared for very deeply, as well as very good friends both in Cape Breton and Florida.
Kenzie was predeceased by his father, Claude, brother, Roger, daughter, Paula, and grandchildren, Alyssa and Blake.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. There will be no service by request of the family. A committal service will be held at a later time.
Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
