MOULAND, Peter - 90, Halifax, formerly of Sydney, passed away December 9, 2009, in
Shannex Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born September 29, 1919 in Bonavista, NL, he was
a son of the late Silas and Beatrice (Skiffington) Mouland. Peter worked as a fisherman in NL
before moving to Sydney where he was employed for 43 years at the Sydney Steel Corp. Peter
was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he was very proud of his family. He is
survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda (Hicks) Mouland; son, Douglas (Marcia) Mouland,
Truro; daughter, Brenda (Chris) Zinck, Hammonds Plains; brother, Roy Mouland, Kelowna, BC;
grandson, Peter Mouland (Sarah Quintal), Ottawa, ON; granddaughter, Laura (Chris) McCrossin,
Calgary, AB; great-granddaughter, Abigail McCrossin. Besides his parents, Peter was
predeceased by an infant son, Douglas; brother, Yetman Mouland. There will be no visitation.
A private funeral service will be held Sunday, December 13, 2:00 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral
Home, Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Burial will take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney. In
lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Nova Scotia. The family wishes to thank Kris and Mariola Ganski and Elzbieta Kubow at
Kingswood Residence, as well as the staff at Parkstone for the wonderful care provided to our
father.
