MacRae Charles Simon MacRae, 86, Grand Anse, passed away in the Veteran’s Wing of St. Anne Community Nursing Care Centre on March 13, 2012.
Born in Balmoral, he was the son of the late Daniel Alexander and Christine (Burns) MacRae.
He was a veteran of the Second World War.
He is survived by his children, Ann-Marie (Hubert) Matthews, Grand Anse, Hazel (Robert) Theriault, West Bay, Wayne (Bonnie) MacRae, Dartmouth, Charlene MacRae, Grand Anse, Heather (Dennis) Gionet, Truro, and Kathy Patterson, Dartmouth, Jimmy (Sandra Lee MacDonald) MacRae, Evanston, Brian (Jeanette) MacRae, Shubenacadie; brother, Allan MacRae, Port Hawkesbury; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Wayne MacDonald.
He was predeceased by his wife, Myrtle Ann and daughter, Millie.
There will be no visitation, funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Burial at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
