Newcombe, Shawn Lee - 43, Bible Hill, Tuesday, March 13, 2012, It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shawn, son of Clayton and Karen (Letcher) Newcombe, Truro. Shawn was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Shawn loved the outdoors, working in his garden, camping and campfires, walks with Kim, quality time with Daniel and visiting his mom and dad. Shawn was a dedicated drummer with the Colchester Legion Pipes and Drum band for 28 years. He was a respected member of the village of Bible Hill, both as a neighbor and friend to everyone he met. Shawn was also a dedicated employee of Wendy’s Restaurant for the past 25 years. Besides his parents Shawn is survived by his loving wife and best friend Kim (Tattrie) and son Daniel at home; grandmother Doris Letcher, Wentworth; brothers, David, Truro, Fred (Janice), Crowes Mills; father-in-law, Carson Tattrie, Truro; sister-in-law, Stacey Debay (Rick), Bible Hill; brother-in-law, David Tattrie (Kim), Malagash; family friend Pam Newcombe; nieces and nephews, Jordan, Cody, Jac, Brett, Emma and Jessica; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Shawn was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Darlene Tattrie; grandfather, Lonnie Letcher; grandparents, Violet and Murray Newcombe. Although Shawn’s life has been cut short here on earth, we can cherish the memories of the way he touched our lives in his own kind and caring way and know that Heaven has gained a Special Angel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where visitation will be held Friday March 16, 7 ~ 9pm and funeral service Saturday March 17, at 2pm, with Rev. Donna Lawrence officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 26 Truro. Interment at a later date in the Earltown Village Cemetery in Earltown. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers donations in Shawn’s memory may be made to a trust fund established for Daniel’s education at the Scotiabank, 589 Prince Street, Truro or at the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home.
