JEANETTE ("NETTIE") PULLEY October 7, 1919 - May 13, 2007 PULLEY - JEANETTE, passed away peacefully at Ponderosa Lodge on May 13, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Jeanette grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba with her mother, father, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. After graduating from high school, she worked at Eatons in Winnipeg. In 1943, she met her soul mate, William ("Dubs") Pulley who was with the air force at the time and stationed in Winnipeg. They were married on September 9, of that year in St. Thomas, Ontario. Following their marriage, Jeanette and Dubs moved to Field, B.C. where Dubs assumed his career with the C.P.R. Although it was a great adjustment for Jeanette moving from a large city to a very, very small town, the time they spent in Field was filled with fun. Dubs was transferred by the C.P.R. and they moved to Kamloops in 1959.Jeanette enjoyed curling, bowling, was a member of the Kinette Club and later the K40. Above all, she doted on her family and, in particular, her grandchildren. Left to cherish Jeanette's memory is her husband, Dubs, her daughters, Patricia (Peter) Aspelieter and Judith (Eldon) Parr, her grandsons, Jason Aspelieter, Jeremy Parr and Edward van der Koot, her sisters, Margaret Nichols and Mina DeWolfe, her long time friend of 52 years, Doreen Stuart, her surrogate daughter, Karen Crabtree and many other dear and wonderful friends who she has been blessed to have over the years. Jeanette is predeceased by her parents, Florence and Charles Haimes, her sister, Jean and her brothers, Charles, Douglas and Walter. The family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Phillip Sigalet who has given Jeanette such good care over the past several years. Our most heartfelt thanks go to our special friends on the 2nd West Ward at Ponderosa Lodge. Their loving care of Jeanette and the support and compassion given to the family over the past 7 months will remain forever in our hearts. They have, without a doubt, gone way above and beyond the call of duty. No request or concern the family had was ever denied, no matter how busy they were, they always had time to answer any questions we had, they laughed and cried with us and hugs and love were given freely. May God bless each and every one of you. A memorial tea in celebration of Jeanette's life, will be held at The Coast Canadian Inn, 339 St. Paul Street on Friday, May 18 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jeanette's memory to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., Central Interior Region, 543 Battle Street, Kamloops, B.C., V2C 2M1.
