A. Kenton Boucher B.Com., Q.C. Born February 11, 1924 in Strathmore, Alberta, Kent died gracefully and harmoniously May 14, 2007 in Kamloops, British Columbia after his self-predicted ten day stay at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home. Beloved partner and husband for 33 years of Barbara (Roberts)(Brickenden). Father of Andrea Stillwell, David, Geoffrey, and Devon (Rob Palmer) whose mother was Faith (Malabre) Jervis-White (deceased 1998); Only brother of Howard (Joan Wickware); Cherished grandfather of Emily Stillwell (Josh Gordon) and Peter Stillwell; Very special uncle to Michael Malabre (Germaine Huot) and their children Patrick (Erin Brand), Tisha and Andrew. Kent practiced law in Ottawa, Ontario from 1953 to 1978, briefly with Boucher & Heron, then as a sole practitioner, briefly as Boucher & Wilson and finally with Beament Green York & Boucher. He was actively involved with the Midget Racing Program in the 60's at Camp Fortune, Ottawa Ski Club, started with the Home and School Association for Manor Park Public School in Ottawa and then became an elected Trustee and finally Chairman of the Ottawa Board of Education in the early 1970's. He took up horseback riding and became a member of the Ottawa Valley Hunt in self-defence in the late 60's because several members of the family could only be found in stables. In the 80's, he and Barbara moved to Williams Lake where he worked for Crown Lands in the BC Government. After retiring, they moved to Kamloops, B.C. Kent's true passion was the wilderness where he spent much of his boyhood in Alberta. He loved to camp, he was taught to canoe by the Cree and he had a hundred and one bear stories. He was a gregarious raconteur who never hesitated to talk to anyone in his path. Laughter was his signature and honesty and integrity were the foundation of all he did. Should friends desired donations to the Marjory Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S., Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9 in memory of Kent would be appreciated.
