IRENE ISABELLA HLUSCHYK September 2, 1921 ~ May 21, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Irene Hluschyk. Irene was born in Stettler, Alberta and raised in California. After marrying and raising three children in California, she returned to Canada in 1973 at which time she met and married the love of her life Andy Hluschyk in 1976. Irene leaves to remember her, her husband of 30 years Andy; sister Kay (Bill) Noble of Victoria B.C.; son Martin Krogh of Oregon; two daughters Janet Gallagher of Nanaimo B.C., and Terry Holmes of Twain Harte, California; step-son Ron (Roberta) Hluschyk of Kamloops, B.C.; and step-daughter Myra (Greg Knight) Stewart of Langley B.C. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her mother Annie Moore; sister Jean Cole; and two brothers in-law John Bateman and Robert Cole. Irene loved to sew and bake and very much enjoyed her outings to the North Hills Mall to meet with friends. She enjoyed playing crib and listening to music. Irene will be dearly missed by her friends from the Mall and at the Renaissance Home. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Renaissance and Dr. Bishop and Dr. Soucy. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27th, 2007 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andrew Picklyk officiating.
