PICCOLO On May 28, 2007 Mrs. Virginia (Anna) Piccolo (nee Pellizzon) passed away peacefully at Kamloops at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Giovanni, her three daughters Esterina (Joe) Valentinuzzi of Kamloops, Dialma Waite of Kelowna, Sandra (Stig) Lyren of Surrey, and one son Rob (Maria) of Burnaby along with six beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Cristina, Stephanie, Stefan, Julianna, and Katarina. She also leaves behind her two caring and supportive sisters, Emma Bianchin of Prince George and Rina Dalla Lana of Kamloops as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will cherish her memory. Anna was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Vincenza Pellizzon. Her brothers, Antonio, Vittorio, Emilio, Erminio, and one sister Luigia. Anna was born on May 29th, 1922 in Maser, Italy. She married the love of her life, her soul mate and best friend, Giovanni, on January 8th, 1949. They worked side by side on the family farm, but wanting more opportunities for their children they decided to immigrate to Canada. In 1957 they arrived in Kamloops with their three young daughters to begin a new life. In 1966 their son Rob was born and she felt like a young mom again. Anna's faith sustained her throughout her life, saying the rosary was a daily ritual. She was an active member of the CWL and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Her days were filled with caring for her family and providing words of comfort for those who needed her support. She was happiest when her children and grandchildren gathered together at the kitchen table enjoying one of her amazing dinners. Anna enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting, and cooking. She was not a scholar and yet valued education, she was not rich in earthly possessions and yet she filled her home with so much love that we wanted for nothing. She was not an orator and yet she spoke words of wisdom and inspired all of us to be the best we could be. She leaves behind a family who will always treasure her and will never forget her. Cara Mamma resterai sempre nei nostri cuori e non serai mai dimenticata. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Alex Leung for his care of mom. We also wish to extend our thanks to all those wonderful nurses, care givers and staff at Pine Grove Care Centre for their care of mom during the past year and a half. Prayers will be recited on Friday, June 1st, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. The Reverend Monsignor John MacIntyre will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at the church on Saturday, June 2nd, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sage Valley Mausoleum.
