LEE: Edith Lee passed away in the Palliser Regional Care Centre on March 16, 2012, at the age of 99 years and 1 day. She was born on March 15, 1913 at a farm the family owned in the Scottsburgh area, but returned to their usual farm home near Neidpath at a young age. She received her education at the Roderickville School in the area. Edith was an accomplished artist, and after her formal education she took correspondence courses in drawing and artwork. She was always very active in helping with the farm work, the gardens and the orchards. She received multiple awards when they showed their garden produce and fruit at the annual Swift Current Horticultural Club show. Edith Lee was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary (Tyson) Lee, brothers William, Edwin and John H., also sister Annie Lee. She is survived by cousins Edna Parson, Elsie Young, June Wittrock, David Tyson and their families, also by special friends, Barry and Tracy Bucsis. In the mid 1960's the Lee's purchased a house in Swift Current, and spent the winters there until in the 1980's when the farm was sold and they moved to town permanently. The gardens around the house in town were made as beautiful as the ones at the farm. Edith remained there until 2011 when she moved to the Bentley. In January 2012, she was transferred from the Swift Current Hospital to the Palliser. Edith was a very quite person, but had a keen sense of humor, which one had to listen to in order to notice it. The Funeral Service was held Tuesday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church with Shirley Wilson Officiating. The organist was Joyce Hattum. Pallbearers were Reg Wilson, Barry Bucsis, Lyle Simonson, Ray Bulbeck, Greg Targerson, Wayne Sabine and Keith Sabine. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, Sk.
