ALLAN ROLAND HARLUK (HAWRYLUK) February 17, 1939 - June 21, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce Al leaving us at the age of 68 at Biggar, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (nee Riley); son, Glenn; brother, Melvin (Shelley); niece, Angela Knockwood; nephews, Doug, Dwayne, Trevor and Clayton Hawryluk; many in-laws and friends. Al was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary Hawryluk; his first wife, Joy (nee Pederson); son, Gary; and brother, Victor. Al was born in Lamont, Alberta and spent his early years on a farm near Andrew. The family moved to Viking during his teens where he attended high school. He joined the Air Force at age 18 where he studied electronics. Five years later, he was discharged and began his career in communication systems with Marconi, RCA, B.C. Tel. This career involved extensive travel throughout Canada and the United States as well as many relocations throughout B.C. He also lived in Ottawa for three years, seconded to Bell Canada as a member of their lobby group. He retired at age 53. In 1995 he moved to Kamloops, B.C., married Carolyn, and in 2004 they moved to an acreage near Biggar. A Memorial will be held at the New Horizons in Biggar, Sask. on July 4, 2007 at 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Biggar Hospital Equipment Fund would be appreciated.
