YORKE, ALENE E. – 98, of Parrsboro passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in Allen Hill, she was a daughter of the late Amasa and Effie (Dowe) Allen. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Collins, Amherst; Celia Burns (Rodney), Ellershouse; a son, Eric (Florence), Parrsboro; a sister, Ethel Slocum, Masstown; 9 grandchildren, Deidre, Melvin, Neil, Nelson; Kimberly, Richard, David, Nancy and Nellie; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gardner in 2004; a granddaughter, Krista; son-in-law, Lorway; a sister, Edith; a brother, Arlie. Visitation 6-8 p.m. today [Monday, March 26, 2012] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday [March 27, 2012], Wayne Hutchison officiating. Burial in the Parrsboro Cemetery.
