LEGER, CAMILLE - Camille Leger of Dieppe (formerly of Memramcook) passed away at The Veterans Health Centre, Moncton on March 29, 2012 at the age of 91. Born on May 10, 1920 in Memramcook (La Hêtrière), he was the son of the late Pierre O. Leger and the late Eugénie Bourque. He was a retired stationary engineer at the Dorchester Penitentiary following 22 years of service. He was a WW II Veteran; a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 89, having been an active executive member for many years and a poppy fund member for 11 years and a lifetime member of the Dieppe Military Veteran’s Association. He was a member of La paroisse Ste. Thérèse de Dieppe and a former member of the Golden Age Clubs of Memramcook, St-Anselme and Dieppe. He enjoyed telling stories, singing, traveling, camping, playing darts and cards and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife Cécile (Favreau) to whom he was married for 68 years; five children, Hélène (Louis H.) LeBlanc and Huguette (Clarence) Vautour both of Dieppe, Gilles (Joanne) Leger of Riverview, Claire (Ronald) LeBlanc and Richard (Denise) Leger both of Memramcook; eight grand children: Daniel, Yves, Serge, Denis, Jason, Sylvie, Gilbert and Jacynte; eight great grandchildren: Yannick, Mikaela, Melania, Jérémie, Nicholas, Caleb, Mélissa and Samuel and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson Gabriel (2005), four sisters Bella, Laudia, Hermance and Alida; seven brothers Edgar, baby André, Arthur, Ferdinand, André, Clément and Gérard; five sisters-in-law Julienne, Hélène, Evangéline, Herméline and Marie, one brother-in-law Camille Cormier, five nephews Edgar, Bernard, Laurie, Alfred and Leopold and one niece Bernice.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home on Sunday, April 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation before the funeral mass that will be held at St. Thomas de Memramcook church ! St. Jose ph on Monday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. www.dupuisfuneralhome.ca
