It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Bruno Walzer, on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Zurich, Switzerland, he was the son of Mrs. Christine (Mauron) Walzer, Switzerland, and the late Luigi Walzer.
Bruno is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Googoo); daughters, Melanie (Heinz), Switzerland, Hanaa (Youssef), Libya; son, Joshua, Switzerland; sister, Silvia Ramelli; brothers, Luigi (Lizbeth) and Ferdinand (Evi), all of whom reside in Switzerland; grandsons, Abdullah, Omar and Suhaib, as well as nieces, Romina, Nicole and Sandra; nephews Davis, Sascha and Raul.
He was employed with the Cove Guest Home as a culinary chef until his debilitating illness prevented him from continuing his profession. Prior to that, he worked as a chef at Chez la Vigne, Wolfville and other fine establishments in Canada, Switzerland and Scotland.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life for Bruno will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. A reception will follow.
