Gladys Sutton, 86, Bedford, formerly of Glace Bay, passed peacefully at home on Dec. 10, 2009.
Gladys had a full life and loved a good time.
She was employed with Woolworths and Halifax Wholesale, and after retirement filled her time with volunteer work. She enjoyed summers in Big Pond with extended family and later took to the road every spring with husband Alton. She will be sadly missed by friends in the Halifax area and friends and family in Glace Bay.
Gladys was predeceased by loving husband, Alton, son, Sherman, brothers, Ernie, Arthur (Muriel), Bill (Marge), Percy, sister June (Dan) Moody.
Survived by son, Alton Jr., Carleton Place, Ont.; daughter, Ila, Bedford; and daughter-in-law, Josephine, Glace Bay; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.
A memorial will be held in Glace Bay at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
