William Lewis Phillips

The passing occurred on March 29, 2012, at the Colchester Regional Hospital of William (Bill) Lewis Phillips of 23 Winchester Place, Truro, N.S., at the age of 81 with his loving wife of almost 60 years, Nancy, at his side.
The eldest son of the late William C. and Violet M. Phillips, Bill was born in Truro and educated in Montreal. He was an accountant by profession and practised in Pictou, Windsor and Truro, Nova Scotia. A great lover of music, he and his trumpet were former members of the Truro Concert Band. He was also an avid model railroader.
Bill is survived by his wife and best friend Nancy (Fiddes), son Marty, Truro, daughters Naneve MacRae (Allan), Charlottetown, P.E.I., and Lisa, Dartmouth, N.S. He is also survived by grandsons Aaron MacRae, Halifax, Brodie MacRae (Francesca Perez), Montreal, Quebec, and granddaughter Alanna MacDonald of Charlottetown, P.E.I., and two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Brianna of Charlottetown. Surviving siblings are Dr. John Phillips and wife Eleanor of White Rock, B.C., David Phillips and wife Halga of Red Deer, Alberta, and Dr. Robin Phillips and wife Ruth of Valley, Colchester County, Nova Scotia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, on Thursday, April 5, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. Private interment at a later date.
