CLEVELAND, WILLIAM “BILL” JOSEPH - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of William “Bill” Joseph Cleveland of Grand Bay-Westfield, husband of Darlene Cleveland, which occurred on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Campbellton, NB on November 12, 1940 he was a son of the late Morgan and Rita (Dempsey) Cleveland. Bill is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children, Cindy (Paul) Melanson, Donald (Donna), Kevin (Lisa) and their mother, Georgette Cleveland; three grandchildren, Ryan, Chad and Julie; one great-grandson, Nelson; three step-children, Marina (Michael) Thornton, David Adams and Joanne (Norm) Adams; five step-grandchildren, James Colgin, Ashley Smith, Samantha Van Nieuw Amerongem, Michael and Anthony Thornton; his twin brother, James “Jim” (Muriel) and sister, Esther (Roger) Berube; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his 2nd wife, Helen Colgin.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes there will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Church of the Resurrection. A private committal will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to the Church of the Resurrection Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
