VINCI On Wednesday, July 25, 2007 Rosa Vinci passed away after a brief illness at the age of 74 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Nicodemo, her three daughters Maria Romeo (Pasquale Marino), Franca (Saverio) Simpatico, Julie (Tony) Sia, her son Domenic (Karen); eleven grandchildren: Giuliana (Adrian) Harvey, Carmelina (Richard) Woods, Daniel (Sabrina), Monica, Carlo Sia, Giuseppe, Roberto and Lorenzo Simpatico, Kassia, Dylan and Raiya Vinci, great grandchild Lukas Woods and her brother Vincenzo Luca of Italy and sister Caterina Napoli of Smithers and several nieces, nephews and other family. Born in Mammola, Reggio Calabria, Italy, Rosa immigrated to Canada with her husband and two daughters in 1955. The family settled in the Smithers area for 33 years. Rosa and Nicodemo moved to Kamloops after retiring in 1988. Rosa was a loving wife, mother and nonna. Her grandchildren were a special part of her life. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends. Family gatherings and her baking was enjoyed by all who knew her. Prayers will be recited on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in the church on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
