SWINTON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Hewitt Swinton. He passed away peacefully with family by his side at Oakside Manor, near Salmon Arm, B.C. after a long battle with dementia. Bruce is survived by his loving wife Lois, his children Richard, Susan (Neil) and Alison (Ted) and grandchildren Corey, Trista, Britney and Brooke. Bruce was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1931. In 1943, his parents and brother, Douglas, and his dog Rex, traveled west by train to settle in New Westminster where Bruce attended high school and met his wife Lois. Bruce was a decorated veteran and a loving family man with a great sense of humor. Bruce will be remembered for his zest for life and the positive influence he had on everyone he met. A light has truly gone out for all of us. Services will be held in the Schoening Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Gordon Heselton officiating. A small reception to follow. Please join us in this celebration of Bruce's life.
