On Wednesday, August 1, 2007 Mr. James "Jim" Peter McKinnon passed away peacefully at Kamloops at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marg, his daughters Lynne (Art) McKague of Edmonton, Alberta and Jamie (Gary) Stewart of Kamloops, his sons Dan (Julie) McKinnon of Kamloops and Barry (Pauline) McKinnon of Chetwynd; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Jad McKinnon in 1965. Jim was a veteran of the 2nd World War. He was a member of the Kamloops Fire Department from 1953 to 1658, then spent 30 years with Westcoast Energy before retiring. At the age of 14, his first job was that of a bellhop at the Plaza Hotel. A Celebration of Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ray Parker officiating.
