November 9, 1925 – April 3, 2012. Surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Philip A. O’Keefe, in his 87th year, entered into eternal life with his heavenly father on April 3, 2012. Predeceased by Parents John & Beatrice (Gould) O’Keefe, Pouch Cove, son-in-law Barry Winsor, sister Claire Learning, and brothers William & Samuel O’Keefe. In 1948 Phil married his life long partner, Agnes (Kent) of Bell Island. Together they worked tirelessly to raise 5 sons and 2 daughters, ensuring they had the best of what life could offer and education being of the upmost importance. Left to celebrate his life are his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Agnes, children: Glenn (Maureen), Dennis (Claire), Gary (Anne), Philip (Carol), Paul (Marie), Sandra Adams (Vandy), Karen Winsor; grandchildren: Kelly Layden (Stan), Glenn Jr. (Melissa), Michael (Sara); Erin (Adam), Colin, Ryan, Scott; Katie; Kara, Mark, Alysa; Philip, Devon, Chloe; Janelle & Brad Adams; Haley & Grant Winsor and one special great-grandchild Evan Layden. Also left to mourn brother Tom (Mary), sister Helen, sisters-in-law Patricia & Gladys O’Keefe, Alice Whalen, Catherine Carpentier (Albert), Maude Kent, brothers-in-law Jack Kent, Donald Kolonel, as well a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Tuesday April 3, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Wednesday April 4 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Thursday April 5 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday April 5, 2012 at 2 p.m. from Mary Queen of the World Church, Topsail Road. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
