At Prince County Hospital on Thursday, April 4, 2012, of Lawrence Joseph Gallant of Slemon Park, formerly of Kelley Road, aged 77, dear husband of Betty Gallant. Born in Cascumpec, on Sept. 13, 1934, son of the late Joseph Lawrence and Margaret (Arsenault) Gallant. Loving father of Arthur (Rose Wood) Gallant, Summerside; Mary Ann (Darren Baily) Gallant, Summerside; Thomas Gallant, Charlottetown; and Joanne Gallant, Summerside. Brother of Vince Gallant, Halifax, N.S.; Eileen (Stephen) LeBlanc and Rose Briand, both of Sackville, N.S.; and Anne Marie (Devern) MacLaurin, Black Diamond, Alta. Brother-in-law of Lawrence (Pat) Gallant, Duvar; Cecilia Jones, and Jerry (Pauline) Gallant, both of O’Leary. Nephew of Eileen Arsenault, O’Leary, and Estella Arsenault, Hamilton, Ont. Predeceased by his grandson, Austin. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Monday until 9:45 a.m., then to St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in the St. Anthony’s Parish Cemetery, Woodstock. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or to the family will be gratefully accepted.
