Esther Beatrice Maud Vacheresse
Esther Beatrice Maud Vacheresse, 89, of Stellarton, and Kingston, Ontario. With sadness, Esther’s family announces her passing on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born January 2, 1923, in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Rideout) Vacheresse of Plymouth, NS.
After her mother’s death in 1959, she moved to Ontario, and each summer drove back to Nova Scotia to visit family and old friends. She was always fiercely independent. In Ontario, she found a new life, new friends and worked mainly with the Ontario Medical Health Insurance in Kingston, ON. She returned to Nova Scotia in 1998 and has since lived in Truro near her sister Helen who died in January 2009.
She leaves behind her sister Mrs. Violet Ross of Truro and formerly of Pictou County and nieces and nephews. She had a special relationship with and will be especially missed by her niece and namesake Esther (Fullerton) Hopkins.
Besides her parents, Esther was predeceased by her brothers: Emerson, George and John; sisters: Margaret, Irene, Helen, Pansy and Ruth.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Visitation will be take place from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14th, in Christ Anglican Church, Bridge Ave., Stellarton, with Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Esther, as was her wish, will be buried beside her parents in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either to the Building Fund or the Cemetery Fund at Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton.
