William (Bill) George Agar February 15, 1945 -- August 22, 2007 On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, Bill silently slipped into eternity at his home in the company of his wife and son after a courageous battle with ALS. Bill will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years, Jennifer and their children and loved ones: Stephanie (Adam, Aubrey, Joshua, Ethan); Ryan (Annalee, Alexander, Lewis, Julia, Chloe); Scott and Chad. Also his sisters and brothers: June (Wils); Vivian (Pat); Deanna (late Ray); David (Roxy); Thomas (Dawn); Marilyn; Gary (Cindy); Donald (Shelley) and Pamela along with numerous nieces (& greats), nephews (& greats), aunt, cousins, and other family members. Bill is predeceased by his parents Lewis and Hazel (Spoonemore) Agar and brother-in-law Ray Manchee. Bill is a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle. Family was always his number one priority. He loved his wife. He cheered on his children in their endeavours. He led by example even at the end of his life by being courageous. He cherished his relationships with his brothers and sisters and treasured each visit he had with them. He loved singing and dancing with them and all of his kindred. He spoke often of his friendships that he held in high esteem, with those he associated with at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and did so throughout his life. He stood firm in his faith in God. Bill started work at Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill in October 1973 as a Machinist and later as a Supervisor. He spoke with high regard of his crews and his friends at Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill. He appreciated the love and devotion that they showed as his health took a turn, making his office facility possible for him to continue working, and his home and vehicle wheelchair accessible. Bill was born in Penticton, B.C. and grew up with his great family in Cawston, B.C. Leaving many memories and "tire treads" behind when he married his wife Jennifer, moved to Merritt and eventually settled in Kamloops for the last 34 years. He loved his '67 Beaumont, family Christmas parties, playing with his grandchildren, butter tarts, metal-detecting, gold-panning, golf, hill-climbing in his "Sami", dancing, singing, church activities, parties, family reunions, family history, watching "dusters", travelling by car, family vacations, "Blazers" hockey, working with his crews, and was just a well-rounded individual who had a great smile! The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 25th, 2007 at 2:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2165 Parkcrest Avenue, Kamloops, B.C., with a viewing at the Church for family and friends between 11:30am - 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society of British Columbia, #208, 1600 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C.
