It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lillian Bailey, 64, of Sydney Mines, on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Florence on Dec. 3, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Norman (Diddy) and Eva (Boutilier) MacIntyre. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines. She worked for many years at National Sea in North Sydney.
She will be sadly missed by her loving children, Paula (Michael Caplette), Kevin (Kim) and Wayne (Cheryl); grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh), Heather, Paul, Tyler and Derek; step-grandchildren, Kasy and Patrick, and her great-grandson, Orlando James. Also left to mourn are her brothers, Thomas (Thelma), Ronnie, Melvin (Laurena) and Rickey; sisters, Isabel (Vincent Legatto), Marg Boulter, Mary Gardiner, Geraldine (Wayne Devoe), and Lesina ‘Lecky’ (Alex Edwards); her extended family, Shauna Devoe and family, and her BFF, Geraldine Serroul.
Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband, James Guy ‘Butch’ Bailey; son, James Guy (Jamie); her companion, Clayton Lafrense; brothers, Daniel and Philip and sisters, Catherine Fiander, Helena, Leona and Naomi Young.
Lillian's family would like to thank Guy and Jessie Bailey and family for being such great in-laws, and also thank the VON and Palliative Care.
Visitation for Lillian Bailey will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Queen Street, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. The burial will be in Tobin Road Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
Donations in Lillian's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society.
