MACLEOD, Melvin Gilholme - On March 21st, 2012, on his 67th birthday, Mel died from complications of pneumonia. Predeceased by older brother, Bob, survived by younger siblings, John, Deb, and Bill, daughter Jennifer (Daryl), and two grand children, Aven and Remi. Mel will also be missed by many friends and neighbours. Born in Glace Bay (1945), Mel moved to Toronto where he attended high school (Bathurst Heights, 1964/65) and university. After a B.A. (History, York University, 1969), he began an M.A. (Queens). He was then employed by the Canada Council in Ottawa (1970). He transferred to the Killam Program, and retired as Head of the Program (1995). Taking early retirement, Mel returned to the Maritimes, eventually settling in Paradise, to enjoy his greatest pleasure and lifelong passion, golf. A memorial will be held for Mel at the Eden Golf and Country Club, in Paradise, NS, on April 21st at 2 p.m. All friends welcome.
