Mike Morrison of 320 Palmer Ave., died Tuesday morning at the Cedars Skilled Care Center, from complications due to a stroke. Present at the time of his death were those closest to him in life, his wife of 50 years, Mary, and his three children. Mike was born in Rumford, Me., the son of Michael and Ella MacDougall Morrison. At a very young age he moved with his family back to the Morrison family farm in Grand River, P.E.I., Canada. At the age of 20, he returned to the place of his birth finding employment with the Oxford Paper Company. Mike is survived by his wife, Mary, his daughters Susan Carpenter of Falmouth and Janet Colucci of Portland, and his son Kevin Morrison of Windham, his five beloved grandchildren, Taylor and Nick Colucci of Portland, Phoebe Morrison of South Portland, and Catherine and John Carpenter of Falmouth, in-laws, Ralph Carpenter, Steve Colucci, and Kathy Morrison, brothers, Ormie and Brad Morrison of Toronto, Ont., and Jerry Morrison of Grand River, P.E.I., two sisters, Lois Woods of Roxbury Mass, and Peggy Arsenault of Charlottetown, P.E.I. He was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Vernon, Lennie, and Roddie, as well as his beloved sister Noreen. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cedars for their love, compassion, support and friendship. Visiting hours will be held Friday, Aug. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jones, Rich, & Hutchins Funeral Home at 199 Woodford St., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Pius X Catholic Church, 492 Ocean Ave. on Saturday Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. A private burial will be held at the family\'s convenience.
