BYSOUTH Ellen Bysouth (also known as Gam by her grandchildren) passed away peacefully August 22, 2007 at the age of 79 with her family by her side. Fondly remembered by her daughter, Maureen (Rick) Nakashimada and son Neil. Grandchildren Chris, Leanne, Kelsey, Brandon and Jaymie Nakashimada and Noel Bysouth. Sister Nancy (Ed) Morrison, nieces Gerry Cheng, Carol Morrison and Virginia Winter all of Victoria, B.C., as well as other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Albert "Toby" Bysouth in April 1974, parents Percy and Marion Aldridge, and brothers Art and Bill Aldridge. She was born Harriet Ellen Aldridge on April 21, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At the age of ten her and her family moved to Victoria, B.C. She married Toby on June 30, 1955 and had two children, Maureen and Neil. In August 1969, the family moved to Kamloops. Ellen worked in the Service Department at Sears for many years retiring in 1986. Ellen was known for her crafts especially her ceramics. Her memory will live on in the ceramics she gave as gifts. In later years, Ellen tried her hand at painting, and proved to be a natural at it. A Memorial Tea will be held Friday, August 31, 2007 at 1:00p.m. at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, 160 Vernon Avenue, Kamloops, B.C. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any expression of sympathy take the form of memorial donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, B.C., V2E 2S9. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ben Anders for his many years of care and dedication to Ellen. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and volunteers at Kamloops Hospice for helping us through this difficult time
