It is with deep sadness that the family of Cheryl Gayle Jeannotte announces her sudden passing in her home on April 11, 2012 at the age of 64 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Dennis, son Shaun and daughter Alesha. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers Odin (Bonnie) and Brian (Jan), brother-in-law Brian (Marjorie) and sister-in-law Charlaine (Cliff) in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents John and Esther Aasen, sister Darlene, brother Victor and nephew Terry.
Born August 19, 1947 in Edam, Saskatchewan. Cheryl grew up in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. She met the love of her life Dennis there in 1965 and the two married on March 11, 1967.
Cheryl became a hairdresser shortly after they moved to Kamloops in 1969. Cheryl had aspirations to start a family and in 1978 she was blessed with her son Shaun followed by her daughter Alesha in 1983. She devoted herself to her family and her kids' activities, volunteering and spending many hours watching hockey, lacrosse, ball hockey and other sports.
Cheryl opened up her heart and her home to many foreign exchange students from Japan and China over the years, showing them love and support when they were so far from home. Cheryl loved to travel and was fortunate to see much of the world on her many trips and cruises with Dennis. In her later few years, Cheryl devoted many hours of volunteer work at the Ponderosa Respite, something she was very passionate about.
If friends wish, memorial donations may be made in Cheryl's memory to the Ponderosa Lodge, 425 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 2T4.
A drop in Memorial Tea will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 for family and friends in the Schoening Chapel Tea Room, 513 Seymour Street.
