HARRISON, Katherine Ella-Ann - 55, of Dartmouth, formerly of Maccan, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at the Dartmouth General Hospital in the presence of her family after several years of ill health. She was the daughter of Irene and the late Douglas Harrison. She is survived by her mother, Irene, her sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Peter, her nephew, Shawn, her dear friend Joanne, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She attended St. Mary’s University and later graduated from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology. She spent her working life in Halifax and Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her father, Douglas Harrison and her grandparents, Earle and Myrtle Katherine Harrison and Thomas and Ella Bourgeois. Her greatest gift was her capacity for loving others, ability to forgive and for her generosity to anyone who crossed her path in life. She loved her animals and never wasted time cleaning her closet when there was something more interesting to do. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral. There will be a private burial held at a later date. Those wishing to make donations may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Research. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the QEII Health Sciences Centre and the Dartmouth General Hospital who went above and beyond.
Though her smile is gone forever
and her hand I cannot touch
I still have so many memories
Of the one I loved so much.
Her memory is now my keepsake
With which I'll never part.
God has her in his keeping
I have her in my heart.
