The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, of Shirley Janesta Duffenais (nee Rogers) of Kinkora, aged 65 years. Beloved wife of Lucien (Luke) Duffenais. Mother of Mary Clements of Summerside; Kimberley DesRoches, Kinkora; Tammy (Kevin) O'Halloran, Borden-Carleton; Beverly Duffenais (Charles MacDonald), Mount Pleasant and Tracey Duffenais, Kinkora. Also survived by 15 grandchildren. Sister of Wilfred (Ruby) Rogers, Summerside; Arnold (Carol) Rogers, Bedeque; Arthur (Jessie) Rogers, Albany; Roy (Dianna) Rogers, Ontario; Faye Malone, Bonshaw; Judy (Bruce) Stewart, Kinkora; Velda (Justin) McCourt, Kinkora and Florence (Lester) Stewart, Albany. Also survived by brothers-in-law Stephen (Cecila) Duffenais, N.L.; Stan Duffenais, Montreal; Clyde (Bernette) Duffenais, N.L., and a sister-in-law, Geraldine (Pat) Harview, Port-Au-Port, N.L. Predeceased by her parents, Leighen and Marion Rogers, a granddaughter, Jennifer O'Halloran, brothers, Barry and Gordon, a sister, Vera, father- and mother-in-law, Freeman and Mary Duffenais and sister-in-law, Nellis Benoit. Remains resting at Lawless Funeral Home, 21 Somerset St., Kinkora. Visiting hours Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 27, 9 to 10 a.m. Leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, then to St. Peter's church, Seven Mile Bay for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
