EDYTHE (AMY) WHITE "Announcing my departure on the 25 day of September, 2007 for the "Trip of a lifetime". I leave with a heart full of gratitude for the 94 years I've been privileged to have had; for my parents, Emma (Mitchell) and Ira Amy; for my three brothers, Richard, Frank and Harry, and my sister Sally (Cunningham), all of who predeceased me; also predeceasing me Bill (W.J.) my husband and pal of 58 years and son David (Oney). I am grateful to daughters Patricia (George) Petersen, Faye (Howard) Hilstrom and son Bill (Freda); for thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; for aunts, uncles and cousins who each added something special to my life; and for the many individuals whose friendship Bill and I enjoyed over the years. I was born in Grenfell, Saskatchewan in 1913 and lived there until 1928 when I enrolled in a business college in Saskatoon. Following graduation I was employed at the Y.M.C.A. where I met Bill. We were married in 1934 and spent most of our life in Saskatoon. Upon Bill's retirement from the University of Saskatchewan we spent the winter months in Hemet, California involved in the many activities of the area but mainly lawn bowling, golfing and sightseeing. Bill passed away in 1993 and the winters were then spent in Saskatoon and Victoria, BC. In 2002 I moved to Kamloops, BC and it was there that I spent my remaining years. Upon my request there will be no funeral, but a private family interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, after which I would be happy to have friends join my family at the Edwards Family Center, 338 - 4th Avenue N. Saskatoon at 2:00 P.M. for a time of fellowship and remembrance. I have been so fortunate in having had such a loving and supportive family and many dear friends, and have been blessed by God's guidance in my life. I leave happily, believing that "Another day has just begun, for death is but to greet the dawn, not the setting sun". The family would like to express their gratefulness to the staff at Thrupp Manor and others who assisted Edythe during her stay there, Francesca and her staff at Ponderosa Day Services where she spent many enjoyable hours, Rev. Patricia McColl and members from KUC for their continuing support, Dr. Mark Langford for his concern and care and the angels at Kamloops Seniors Village for their loving tenderness during her final weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Doctors without Borders" or a charity of your choice. A Celebration drop-in tea will be held in the Lounge at Kamloops United Church on Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 1:00-4:00 P.M.
