GARY ROY ARMITAGE APRIL 23, 1940 ~ SEPTEMBER 23, 2007 Born in Kinistino, Saskatchewan, Gary passed away peacefully in Penticton Regional Hospital with his family at his side. His father Russell Armitage predeceased Gary in 1980. His mother Ruby Armitage of Kamloops, BC survives him. Leaving to cherish his memories are Sister Janice Fitzpatrick of Kamloops, BC; Brother Sheldon Armitage (Elke) of Smithers, BC; daughters Roselyn Armitage of Victoria, BC, Dawn Armitage of Merritt, BC, Shannon Armitage of Gibsons, BC and wife Berva Armitage of Merritt, BC. Also leaving to cherish his memories are nephew Tom Fitzpatrick (Ingrid) of Calgary, Alberta; Nieces Krista and Julia of Smithers, BC; Grandchildren Leanne and Charlene Farmer of Victoria, BC, Quinn and Emily Pooley of Merritt, BC; Aunt Babe Glover of Mississauga, Ontario; Uncles Charlie and Lyle Armitage of Regina, Saskatchewan. Gary was a Military Police Cprl. in the Armed Forces for 20 years, then went on to spend another 25 years in mill operations with Highland Valley Copper. As requested, there will be no service. A sincere thanks to Dr. R. Baker and the staff at Royal Inland Hospital for all the special care Gary received during his lengthy illness. A gathering for a Celebration of life will be held at the Personal Alternative Funeral Home in Kamloops on Saturday at 1p.m.
