Antonio Z. Coelho March 11, 1929 - September 29, 2007 It is with great sorrow and saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father and grandfather, Antonio Z. Coelho. He is survived by his children Amancia (Joao) Mauricio, George (Maria), Tony (Cindy) and John (Natalie) and his grandchildren, Roxanne, Aaron, Jonathan, Sean, Trevor, Jacob, Joshua, and Jaden. Antonio (Tony) also leaves brothers, George and John and sisters Maria do Carmo and Conceicao as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his much loved son, Jose Antonio, his parents, and three of his siblings. Our father, Tony was born March 11th, 1929 on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. In order to provide a better life for his family, Tony immigrated to Canada in 1961, settling down in the country he would come to love. He worked in the forest industry for 34 years at the Komori Lumber and Balco-Tolko sawmills. He loved his family, fruit trees and a large vegetable garden, that he shared. For many years he cherished his pets especially his adventurous cat, Misclean. A mass of Christian burial will be held to celebrate Tony's life on Thursday, October 4th at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral located at 3rd and Nicola St. A private interment will be held following the cremation.
