PHILOMENA (PHYLLIS) MARGARET HUPPIE February 11, 1927 - September 30, 2007 Our Irish Rose It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dear mom Phyllis on September 30th, 2007. She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours with her family at her side. She is lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Fran (Stan) Kilford of Sparwood, BC, Jackie (Ken) Rines of Kamloops, BC, Sandi (Jim) Hendry of Kamloops, BC and Gail (Colum) McDonnell of Kamloops, BC; her six grandchildren: Lori, Collin, Shannon, Liam, E.J. and Sarah and her five great grandchildren: Kathleen, Duncan, Simon, Kaleb and Ocean along with numerous family members in Canada and Ireland. Her beloved husband Ed predeceased her on June 9th, 1993. He was the love of her life and they were inseparable throughout their years together. Mom was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Being Irish was very dear to her and she was always surprised when people commented on her accent - she was sure she did not have one, but we knew otherwise. She was a great storyteller who loved to talk about the old days and she always left us wanting to hear more. She was quick witted with a great sense of humour and a positive outlook on life. Mom was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose priority was always her family. She was known for her caring and affectionate manner and always generous with everything she had, especially her time. We will miss having that cup of tea with her but know her spirit is with us, giving us hope and strength to start each new day. The family would like to express special thanks to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice staff and volunteers for their exceptional care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kamloops Funeral Home, Pastor Len DenBraber officiating.
