It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlie Simms of Port Saunders, NL, announce his passing on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Virtue; daughter Germaine (Peter); daughter-in-law Colleen Simms; grandchildren Samuel and Keria; brother Earl (Christine); sisters Mary, Madeline, Eileen, Maude (Lloyd), Ivy (Russell) and Dianne (Hugie); sisters-in-law Gladys Simms, Marie Simms, Marion (Robert) Hunt, Ella (Alman) Dove, Sharron (Wade) Dolimount and Peggy (Wayne) Ball; brothers-in-law Larry Morris, Roger (Janette) Willmott and Shawn (Christina) Willmott; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Evelyn Simms, son Shannon Simms, brothers Clarence and Everett Simms and sister Mildred Morris. Friends visited Good Tidings Pentecostal Church in Port Saunders on Wednesday and Thursday. Visitation continued at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Friday. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Deer Lake. Interment followed at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Wight’s Road.
