Woodrow Cleveland
CLEVELAND, WOODROW - The death of Woodrow James Cleveland of Fredericton, NB and formerly of Millerton, NB, son of the late James Alexander and Rose (Jeffrey) Cleveland occurred at the Veterans’ Health Center in Fredericton on Thursday, April 19, 2012. A veteran of World War 11, he served in the 23rd Field Regiment, RCA, part of the 4th Canadian Armoured Division of the 2nd Canadian Corps, following which he worked in the automotive trade and then with Canada Post. He enjoyed hunting, model railroading and gardening. He was the last surviving member of his family. Woodrow is survived by his only son, Walter (Jackie), grandchildren Richard (Brenda) of Fredericton, and Jamie (Andrea) of Austin Texas. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Brett and Julia Cleveland of Fredericton and Lee Cleveland of Austin TX, as well as his canine companion, Hunter. Woodrow was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Daisy, his parents, James and Rose, brother Glen and sister Edith. He was a member of Northumberland Lodge No. 17 F & AM; Mount LeBenon Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Past Master L.O.L. 147; Past County Master Northumberland County Lodge, Treasurer Northumberland Royal Scarlet Chapter for 40 years, Past Deputy Grand Chaplin Grand Orange Lodge of Canada; member Imperial Grand Black Chapter of the British Commonwealth; Past Grand Master Grand Black Chapter of New Brunswick; Royal Black Knights of Ireland.
Mr. Woodrow J. Cleveland is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Sunday, April 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday evening only from 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ross Wiseman officiating.
