Peacefully with family at his side at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home on Friday, April 20, 2012, of Albert (Abby) Edward MacIntyre, of Mount Stewart, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of 56 years of the late Phyllis MacIntyre. Loving father of Kevin (Jenny), and wonderful and caring grandfather to Jason, Shawn (Allison),and Jodi Gray (Bryan). Lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren Bryce and Emma Gray, and Brayden and Nolan MacIntyre. Abby will be sadly missed by his brother, Buddy (Jane), sisters Joan Lund (Eddie), and Neta Fleming (Jim), sisters-in-law Kay MacIntyre, Shirley Murphy, Elizabeth Murphy, and Eileen Murphy. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John J. and Marion (Steele), his brothers Clarence, Cy, and Reggie, his sisters Winnie Murphy, Kay McNicholas, Theresa MacDonald, and Evelyn MacDonald, and his half brothers and sisters William MacIntyre, Vince MacIntyre, Valentine MacIntyre, and Mary Doucette. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home, visiting hours on Monday, April 23rd from 3 to 7 pm. Funeral mass at St Andrew’s Parish Church, Mount Stewart on Tuesday, April 24th, at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at St Andrew’s Parish Cemetery. If so desired, memorials in Abby’s memory can be made to St. Andrew’s Cemetery Fund or to the PEI Alzheimer’s Society.
