Elizabeth “Betty” Reynolds

LOGAN, ELIZABETH "BETTY" - It is with sadness that the family of Elizabeth “Betty” Reynolds Logan announces her passing on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Mum passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness at the age of 90. Mum was born on December 21, 1921 in Medicine Hat, AB. She met and married Alton (Al) there on January 2, 1943. They moved to Boiestown, NB in 1952 and to South Esk, NB in 1968 where they have resided since. Betty and Al had four children: Carol, Robert, Bill and Alan. Betty was active in Lioness and the Senior Citizens Friendship Club and enjoyed both organizations very much. Betty was involved with the Salvation Army while it was active in Newcastle. Most people would remember Betty from the thrift store. She had a wonderful alto voice and enjoyed her years singing on television with Harriet. Mum was a great cook. Al’s (her husband) fishing and hunting buddies would request her apple pies every year. Her pies will be missed. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Mary-Jane Tingley; her husband of sixty years, Alton; one son, Alan; one great-grandson, Bobby; her brother, Raymond; her sister, Jean; daughter-in-law, Anne; and her son-in-law, Joe. Mum is survived by her children, Bill (Helen), Robert and Carol; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sincere thanks to Dr. Moses Rambaran and Elaine for their care and love of Mum. She loved going to see Dr. Rambaran—he made her feel so special. The family would also like to send thanks to all of Betty’s caregivers at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. The family especially wishes to thank Anna Arsenault and Gloria Johnstone for their loving care of Mum. And to Blake, Ellen and Jaden, who have been exceptional neighbors.
At Betty’s request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11am at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Fraser officiating. Interment will follow in Boiestown United Cemetery. In her memory, donations made to Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Davidson’s Funeral Home, 622-7464 and online at www.davidsonsfh.com.
