QUIGLEY, FREDERICK WILLIAM - “The gates of Heaven swung open, a loving voice said “come”, Fred gently took his Masters hand and his life on earth was done.” The death of Frederick W. Quigley occurred on Saturday April 21st, 2012 in the Garden Suite at The Loch Lomond Villa at the age of 87. Born in Annapolis Royal, N.S. he was the son of the late William and Lenora Quigley. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his loving wife Frances (Rafuse) Quigley. Fred is survived by his daughter Donna Jones (Warren) of Milledgeville, son David W. Quigley (Barbara) of Rothesay; five grandchildren Derek, Alison, Ann, Krista and Andrew; four great grandchildren Curtis, Amy, Emma and Abigail; one great great grandchild; sister Olive Atherton of Massachusetts; cousins David and John Low of N.S. Fred was a WWII Veteran having served with the Merchant Navy. He retired in 1988 from C.P. Ferry Services/Marine Atlantic after 40 years.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, April 25th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Veterans Tribute to begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26th from Silver Falls United Church, Loch Lomond Road at 1:30 p.m. Private family interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
