The death occurred at Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, of Georgie Ona Campbell, Alberton, aged 89, wife of the late Robert E. Campbell. Born on April 24, 1923, daughter of the late Theodore and Rebecca (MacAusland) Lewis. Loving mother to Diane (Alden) Rennie, David (Edith), late Donald (Nina), Elizabeth (Hector) MacLeod, Elda (Robert) Culbert, Gwen (Rick) Hardy, Rob (Debbie) and Margaret (Gary) Gallant. Cherished grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Georgie was dear sister to Marie Pridham (late Reginald), sister-in-law to Peggie Campbell (late Fred), Bessie Horne (late Lloyd); Jean Johnston; Erskine MacMillan (late Marion); Sidney Hardy (late Eleanor); Bill (Stella) Campbell; and also survived by special caregiver Frankie Murphy. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Robert, son Donald, great-granddaughter Kaylie Alyssa Pridham, sisters and brothers-in-law Erma (Earl) Slote, Ruby (George) Spears, Ross (Lucille) Campbell, Carrie (Elmer) Matthews and Edgar Johnston. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene, Elmsdale, at 4 p.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. In memory of Georgie, memorials to the Kidney Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
