LeBLANC, John Harold “Beaver” – 80, of Arcadia, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his loving wife at his side, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Yarmouth on October 13, 1931, he was the son of the late Albert and Odellie (Saulnier) LeBlanc. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Anita (Vacon); brothers, Edgar (Esther) LeBlanc and Victor LeBlanc, both of Yarmouth; sisters, Anita Deveau, Hebron; Linda Surette, Kingston; Frances MacIntosh, New Glasgow; Phillis LeBlanc, Dartmouth; Shirley (Gilbert) Allen, Innesifail, AB; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Hilda Nickerson and by a six year-old brother, Lomer LeBlanc. Beaver was a well-known and respected salesman, having worked with Lyons of Arcadia, World Book Encyclopedia, Tusket Ford and Chrysler Dodge. Beaver loved life. He enjoyed socializing and entertaining people with his sense of humour, loved the company of family and friends, and greeted all with “A cup of tea?” He especially liked working outside in his garden, planting his “special beans.” He was a faithful and devoted member of St. Ambrose parish, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2181, as well as of the Msgr. W. E. Young Fourth Degree Assembly, both in Yarmouth. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus choir for the past five years, which he thoroughly enjoyed and was very meaningful to him. He will be sorely missed by many, and especially by his “catonne”, Anita, of 55 years. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 Friday evening with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 28 at St. Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Interment took place in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus (Council 281), or to the Yarmouth Food Bank.
