BAKER, Douglas Patrick – Born April 11, 1951 - December 17, 2009. Passed away in the presence of his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Frances Baker; brothers Frank and Alfred; sisters Marg and Donna. Leaving to mourn his best friend and loving wife Sandra (nee Stevenson); three sons: Doug (Cindy), Alfred (Denise) and Eddy (Michelle); one brother Jim (Hazel); seven sisters Bet Fagen (Jim Whalen), Shirl (Bob Whelan), Mildred (Vic Mercer), Geraldine Halleran, Mercedes (Paul Woodman), Helen (Jim Whey) and Barb (Eric Whey), both of Dartmouth, N.S.; seven grandchildren: Trevor, Ashley, Shane, Denikia, Zachary, Riley and Brianna; special nephew Gerry Cox and wife Claudine of Holyrood and his homecare worker Adam Bromley, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday, December 18 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, December 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Mundy Pond Rd. with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road.
