It is with great sadness that we the family of William ‘Bill’ Bartlett announce his passing on Dec. 19, 2009, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Bessie (Gosse) Bartlett in October of 2009. He is also predeceased by his parents, Fred and Bertha Bartlett, brothers, Tom, Harold, Fred and Jack, his sisters, Lillian, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Chant, brother-in-law, Leonard Gosse and sister-in-law, Viola (Reg) Smith.
Bill is survived by sons, John (Mary), Glace Bay, Kenneth (Loretta), Dundas, Ont.; and daughter, Myrna (Robert) MacMullin, Glace Bay, with whom he resided; sisters, Janet Martin and Shirley Broadzinski, Toronto; brother-in-law, Roland (Sharon) Gosse; sisters-in-law, Reenie Bartlett and Rose Ireland. Also left to mourn are special niece, Carolyn (Neil) Morrison and his loving grandchildren, Rob (Rachael) MacMullin, Steven (Roy) MacMullin, Jason (Anne Marie) Bartlett, Stacey (Scott) Bartlett, Terry (John) Bartlett-Visser, Tracey (Stephen) Binder; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Bill will be held at Patten Funeral, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, N.S., on Monday, Dec. 21 from 7-9 p.m. with funeral service Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay, with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Grand Lake Road.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church or to a charity of choice.
