The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, of Lorne Murphy of Summerside, aged 80 years. Born in Lot 11, he was the son of the late Laughlin and Ida (Bulger) Murphy. Survived by his children Gary (Pam), Tottenham, Ont.; Mary Childs, Guelph, Ont., and Kevin (Susan Merritt), Irvine, Calif.; grandchildren Peter, Patrick and Grace Murphy; Matthew, Ben and Rebecca Childs; sisters Myra Gillis, Arlington, P.E.I.; Kay Murphy, Seattle, Wash.; and by a brother David (Maureen) Murphy, Sarnia, Ont. Predeceased by his wife, Doris (McCue) Murphy; and brothers, Norbert, Gerard, Alban, Cyril, Linus and Tommy. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside.
